Dr. JR Harding | The Institute for Successful Longevity

Dr. JR Harding, Ed.D., is a Teaching Faculty II in the College of Business and an author, speaker and advocate.

A leader within the disability community from both personal and professional experience, Dr. Harding has contributed for the past 38 years in national, state, and community public policy to advance the independence and self-sufficiency of persons with disabilities. He is a former two-time presidential appointee, seven-time Florida gubernatorial appointee, and author of Now What? and ADA Adventure. As a 2x quadriplegic, he strives to lead by example.

Dr. Harding currently serves on several national, state, and community boards.

Some of his past contributions include the 2002 James Patrick Memorial Program, co-authoring the 2004 National Accessibility Guidelines, the 2006 Volunteer Voting Accessibility Guidelines, the 2008 Outdoor Accessibility Guidelines, the 2014 Refueling Assistance Act, and the 2015 Florida Able Act. He serves as a grant reviewer for the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP) and for the Christopher and Dana Reeves Foundation. In the past he has taught MAN 4390 (Current Issues in the Workforce), MAN 4310 (Workforce Inclusion), and MAN 4143 (Contemporary Leadership Challenges).
