Dr. Yanshan Wang to Deliver AI+Aging Distinguished Lecture at FSU
The Florida State University Institute for Successful Longevity (ISL) is pleased to welcome Dr. Yanshan Wang of the University of Pittsburgh for an upcoming AI+Aging Distinguished Lecture on Monday, October 26, 2026.
Dr. Wang will present “Healthy Aging in the Era of Generative AI: From Scientific Advances to Trustworthy Clinical Applications” from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the Broad Auditorium at the FSU Claude Pepper Center. A reception with refreshments will follow the lecture.
Dr. Wang is Vice Chair of Research and Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Pittsburgh and the inaugural Director of AI in the Clinical and Translational Science Institute. He also directs the Clinical NLP & AI Innovation Laboratory (PittNAIL), where his research focuses on trustworthy generative artificial intelligence, large language models, and clinical natural language processing.
His research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and healthy aging spans Alzheimer's disease and dementia, precision rehabilitation, and AI-driven clinical decision support. Through this work, Dr. Wang examines how emerging AI technologies can be developed and translated into practical applications while maintaining a focus on trust, human-centered design, and clinical relevance. During his lecture, Dr. Wang will discuss recent advances in generative AI and the opportunities and challenges associated with translating these technologies into trustworthy clinical applications.
