You are invited to join university researchers and community experts in a workshop on “Bridging Resilience Divides: Technology, Transportation, and Communications,” April 14-16 at Florida State University’s Turnbull Center.

The conference will focus on research on how communities can take advantage of smart, connected technology and how this technology can be employed to develop solutions to community-wide problems, including facilitating community engagement, mobility, and disaster planning and recovery.

"The conference will give members of the public an unusual opportunity to meet with experts and provide feedback to researchers and to the National Science Foundation,” said Walter Boot, Ph.D., an FSU researcher on older adults and technology and Associate Director of the Institute for Successful Longevity, a co-sponsor of the event. Other co-sponsors include the Center for Accessibility and Safety for an Aging Population, the Resilient Infrastructure & Disaster Response Center, the National Science Foundation and others. 

There is no cost to participate, and members of the public are welcome to join the three-day workshop at any time. Free parking will be available in the Turnbull Center parking garage, which can be accessed from Macomb Street or Copeland Street. The Turnbull Center's address is 555 W. Pensacola St.

Kevin Guthrie, Director of Florida’s Division of Emergency Management, will give the conference keynote address. Participants also will hear talks and discussions on a variety of issues:
