Members of the public came to Transportation Day 2018 on Friday (Nov. 30) to learn more about research into how to expand mobility for people of all ages.

Transportation Day offered a panel discussion by transportation experts and presentations and posters by researchers at Florida State University, Florida A&M University and the University of North Florida, as well as other opportunities to learn.

The Florida Highway Patrol and the Florida Trucking Association provided demonstrations on how drivers can be safe on the road, and CarFit helped older drivers make adjustments to their mirrors, seats and steering wheels to be better positioned in their vehicles.

Transportation Day was sponsored by FSU’s Center for Accessibility and Safety for an Aging Population. The Institute for Successful Longevity was a partner in the event at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering.
